What is Flea Terminator II?

Flea Terminator II is 100% orthoboric acid. This powder is a naturally occurring chemical in granulated form which is designed to be used in cracks and crevices of upholstered furniture.

Flea Terminator II kills fleas, their larvae and hatched eggs in carpets and upholstered furniture. It freshens and deodorizes, using a unique and natural method developed by exterminators.

How Does Flea Terminator II Work?

In the carpet, Flea Terminator II falls freely to the nap where the fleas live and reproduce, contaminating everything flea larvae eat. This interrupts the life cycle at the larvae stage. Adult fleas that jump off onto the treated carpet cannot live or reproduce and the infestation is eliminated.

How Long Does It Take?

The life cycle of a flea is composed of the following stages: egg, larvae, pupae and adult. The cycle stops at the larval stage because of Flea Terminator II. Fleas already in the pupa stage are protected until they emerge. It takes 6 weeks, depending on temperature and humidity, for fleas in the pupa stage to erupt from the protective cocoon, come into contact with the powder and die.

Frequently Asked Questions

About Flea Terminator II

Q. Can I treat my pets with this product?
A. No. Flea Terminator II is designed for carpets and upholstered furniture. If you have a pet, you will need to treat your pet according to your veterinarian's instructions. If your pet goes outside and brings fleas back into the house, the fleas will not be able to live or reproduce in the house because of Flea Terminator II.

Q. Can I shampoo the carpet?
A. When an infestation is over, Flea Terminator II continues to protect you against further infestation for a year. If you decide to shampoo after the fleas are gone you will definitely remove the powder and the protection it provides. Whether or not you have another infestation depends on whether or not fleas are introduced back into the house.

Q. Can I vacuum?
A. You can begin vacuuming immediately. In fact, if you are trying to get rid of an infestation, vacuuming every day is very important. Vacuuming will trigger those fleas in the pupal stage that have matured to erupt and come in contact with Flea Terminator II. Once these newly hatched fleas are eliminated, the infestation is over.

Q & A about TERMIDOR®

Q. Is it faster than a bait system?
A. Termidor is 2-6 times faster than a bait system, which can take from many months to several years.

In addition, termite bait is not added to a monitoring station until termite activity is actually observed at that station. As well as taking time, this also leaves the possibility of termite damage to the structure being baited, even though no termite activity is seen at the outlying stations.

With Termidor, termites are killed – dead. That’s why there are no excuses. And a lot less waiting around.

Q. Is it safe?
A.
Termidor is effective at very low application takes; typically, the active ingredient fipronil has been used for flea and tick control on millions of cats and dogs, globally. And since Termidor bonds to the soil, there’s no leaching through rainfall or irrigation.

Q. Does it smell?
A
. No. Termidor has virtually no odor (which means neither you nor your family will notice anything). Since it’s applied with water, there’s also no solvent smell.

Other questions

Q. I have roaches. How can I get rid of them?
A.
There are many different kinds of roaches. Let's see if we can narrow the possible types by answering some questions. Where are you seeing them? How large and what color are they? It would also be helpful to catch one for our technician to accurately identify. When we know the exact roach, we will know the best chemical to use and the proper places to put it.

Q. How can I tell if my house has fleas?
A.
Set a flea trap in a pie pan or lasagna dish. Fill with water and a squirt of dishwashing liquid. Place the pan on the floor in a room where you suspect the fleas may be. Place a lamp on the floor next to the pan and leave the light on all night. Fleas will be drawn to the lamp and trapped in the pan. You can then see them.
